Deep Laser Skin Resurfacing

Take Off The Years: Deep Laser Resurfacing Redefines Your Skin

Experience the transformative power of Deep Laser Skin Resurfacing at Empire Aesthetic Center in Bakersfield. Using the industry-leading Sciton technology, we tailor our resurfacing treatment to your needs. The tunable resurfacing laser safely removes old layers of damaged skin to reveal a firmer, smoother, and more youthful complexion.

Deep Laser Resurfacing Helps Your Skin Defy Time

As we age, our skin loses its natural collagen production, leading to wrinkles, sagging, and a loss of youthful vibrancy. Bakersfield’s long summers can also be harsh on your skin. Years of sun exposure leave behind sun damage, brown spots, and uneven tone, making you look older than you feel. But aging gracefully doesn’t have to mean accepting these changes.

Empire Aesthetic Center’s Deep Laser Resurfacing harnesses the power of advanced, tunable Sciton laser technology that combines the dramatic results of the classic CO2 laser with the safety of the fractional laser, yielding effective skin tightening with shorter recovery times than ever before. By precisely targeting and removing old, damaged, or dead skin cells we promote the growth of a new layer of fresh, healthy skin. The resulting healing response also stimulates the production of new collagen, leading to a stronger dermal foundation and noticeably firmer skin. After just one treatment, many patients enjoy a dramatic improvement in the overall look and feel of their skin.

The Benefits of Deep Laser Skin Resurfacing

Smoother, Younger-Looking Skin

Deep Laser Resurfacing removes damaged skin cells and stimulates collagen production, revealing a smoother, plumper complexion with reduced wrinkles and fine lines.

Reduced Scars and Sun Damange

The laser can target scar tissue and sun damage like hyperpigmentation, minimizing their appearance and restoring an even, radiant skin tone.

Tunable Resurfacing Laser

Sciton’s advanced technology allows for precise control of the laser’s depth and intensity, tailoring the treatment to your individual needs and skin concerns.

Less Downtime

Compared to traditional CO2 lasers, Deep Laser Skin Resurfacing with our Sciton system offers faster healing times and less downtime, allowing you to get back to your life routine sooner.

Your Deep Laser Resurfacing Journey

Consultation

During your initial consultation, our team will discuss your goals and concerns to determine if Deep Laser Skin Resurfacing is the right treatment for you. Depending on your skin’s needs, shallower laser treatments like MicroLaserPeel, NanoLaserPeel, Profractional, or a BBL Photofacial may be more appropriate.  We’ll explain the procedure in detail and address any questions you may have, so you can feel comfortable and confident in starting your Deep Laser Resurfacing journey.

During and After Deep Laser Resurfacing

For your comfort, Deep Laser Skin Resurfacing is usually performed under local anesthesia with mild sedation. Eye shields protect your eyes and a cold air blower is used to soothe the skin as Dr. Chahal skillfully dials in and directs the laser to remove the targeted layers of damaged skin. This allows new, healthy skin to grow in its place and stimulates collagen production by triggering your skin’s natural healing process.

Following the procedure, you can expect burning, redness, warmth, and a sunburned sensation. Most discomfort will subside within a few hours and can be managed with ice packs and Tylenol, as needed. Redness, peeling, and flaking are also a normal response to the treatment, as dead skin cells are shed to give way to the new skin. Our cosmetic team will provide you with all the necessary after-care instructions to help you protect and care for your healing skin. During the healing process, keeping the skin moisturized and out of sunlight is important for optimal results.

This treatment is ideal for individuals with deep wrinkles, acne scars, sun damage, or uneven skin tone. During your consultation, we’ll assess your skin and determine if it’s the right fit for you.

You can expect to see a significant improvement in the appearance of wrinkles, scars, and sun damage. Your skin will be smoother, tighter, and more radiant.

The treatment itself typically takes about 30-60 minutes, depending on the size of the area being treated.

Most patients experience minimal downtime and are able to return to their regular activities within a few days. The most important thing will be keeping your skin moisturized with twice daily applications of Noon SOS Cream for 14 days. It is also crucial to avoid prolonged sun exposure for at least 4 weeks after treatment.

The procedure is typically performed under local anesthesia with mild oral sedation, so you will feel minimal discomfort. A cold air blower is also used to help soothe the skin during laser application.

The cost of Deep Laser Resurfacing varies depending on the size of the area treated and your individual needs. We offer financing options to make the treatment fit your budget.

Potential side effects and complications associated with laser resurfacing treatments include:

  • Acne breakouts, which can be effectively managed with a skincare routine recommended by your doctor.
  • Skin infection, treatable and controllable through the application of antibiotic ointment post-treatment.
  • Cold sore or herpes reactivation, particularly if laser resurfacing is performed around the mouth. Disclosing your cold sore history to Dr. Chahal before the procedure allows for preventive measures.
  • Hyperpigmentation, where the treated area and surrounding tissue may darken during the healing process. Dr. Chahal can recommend a safe bleaching agent if this occurs.
  • Milia, small white bumps on the skin that can be gently addressed by cleaning with a washcloth.
  • Prolonged redness, typically resolving within a month during the healing process. If it persists, informing us is advisable.
  • Scarring is a potential risk if after-care instructions are not diligently followed.
  • Swelling is a common occurrence post-procedure but tends to diminish gradually during the recovery period.
